Crime and Justice Institute

  • The Crime and Justice Institute (CJI) is a non-partisan nonprofit with a mission to improve youth and adult justice systems. As Design and Digital Media Specialist, I shape CJI’s visual identity and communication strategy.

I create compelling reports, data visualizations, and social media campaigns, while leading performance analysis across digital platforms. I also direct CJI’s website redesign and video strategy, ensuring cohesive, high-impact digital experiences.

Newsletter Redesign

I designed a new look for the Crime and Justice Institute’s newsletter. With a custom logo, an accessible design system, and call-to-action buttons, the once-simple newsletter came to life. The analytics showcase the redesign's success and interest, with an open and click rate exceeding the non-profit industry standard.

State Outcome Briefs

I designed a template for the Justice Reinvestment Initiative (JRI) State Outcome Briefs. These publications showcase the justice system's before-and-after in various states that have completed the JRI process. Each state has a unique story that allowed me to design custom data visualizations and infographics.

Video Art Direction

I partnered with Cinebody to produce a compelling explainer video for a standout report. I wrote the script, designed the storyboard, and created custom data visualizations to convey key insights clearly, providing a strong creative foundation for the final video.

Maryland Report on Racial Equity in the Justice System

I designed the layout and data graphics for the Maryland Equitable Justice Collaborative report. My goal was to make the data approachable to the public and emphasize the findings of racial disparities within the justice system.
